Homewood-Flossmoor High School
Class of 1971 Yearbook Project

Long story short, we could really use your donation!

As many folks from our class of 71 came onto Facebook, a main issue was “who is this person?”. Maybe we remembered the name, and maybe not – after all, there were 847 of us in that class!

My (now) wife Holly was 2000 miles from me, and was one of those asking that question and did not have a yearbook to use. So I scanned in our class and set up a rough yearbook. As time went on, and I began to receive wonderful feedback I wanted to create a decent looking yearbook that was also easy to use, which is what you see today.

So what does this have to do with requesting donations (strictly voluntary! If you donate you help this cause tremendously yet you are under no obligation to do so)?

We (Holly and I) have put in a load of hours on this. It is definitely a challenge to scan, adjust, merge, crop, and line up the pages, as well as resize the pages. Then there is the backside of creating the online book. Seeing the end product though made it worth it.. Then there is the software, computer and scanners, etc. - all things that add up. We even took time to correct many of the misspelled names! Now, nearly 40 years after the fact, one can show their children/family/friends their yearbook picture with their correct name!

With this latest release, and the hope to add the full yearbook, it seemed prudent to ask financial help from those who would find this yearbook helpful/useful/interesting, etc. So, if you can (some, like myself are facing hard financial issues, so if you are, don't even consider donating!), please consider contributing as you see fit.

Thanks!

Rick and Holly
