Guys,
Since my retirement from the
U.S. Naval Reserve earlier this year my unit has been activated, and I receive
regular email messages from some of the troops I had the pleasure to serve
with. Rarely does a morning go bye that I don't shed a tear for the proud
and strong sailors and other service members who willingly put their lives on
the line for the ideals we support. I served in Vietnam and completed two
tours with Special Warfare Unit One (SPECWAR is know as the Navy SEALS).
However, my heart lies with my last unit that I had the privilege to lead for
two years. I received the attached document from one of the Corpsmen in
that group. He is married, has two small children, and the slide of the
soldier with the tear running down his face looks like this special
Corpsman. Freedom is not free – it comes at a price. Feel free to
share this as you wish.
